About Your Instructor
Zaire Sabb is a Clinical Herbalist, Traditional Midwife, Functional Medicine Registered Nurse, educator, author, and Department Chair of Herbalism at HPOC University. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Natural Medicine, with her doctoral degree expected to be conferred on September 12, 2026. Her work bridges traditional plant wisdom, reproductive wellness, maternal care, clinical insight, and culturally rooted healing practices. Zaire’s midwifery experience includes supporting birthing families in both the US and Ghana, where she has continued to deepen her understanding of traditional maternal care, community based birthwork, and the importance of honoring both ancestral knowledge and modern clinical safety. Zaire is the author of Herbal Harmony, which received the International Impact Award, as well as Root & Recalibrate and Recipe & Ritual from The Rooted Body Series. Through her books, courses, and professional training programs, she helps practitioners move beyond memorized lists of herbs and develop a thoughtful framework for individualized care. With experience spanning nursing, herbalism, midwifery, reproductive health, and adult education, Zaire understands the questions birthworkers face when clients seek herbal support during preconception, pregnancy, labor, postpartum recovery, emotional wellness, and lactation. Her teaching emphasizes preparation methods, contraindications, medication interactions, professional scope, ethical practice, and knowing when medical evaluation or referral is necessary. Her goal is to equip birthworkers with practical herbal knowledge they can use with greater confidence, discernment, integrity, and responsibility.
